SprinG Green Retreat
One of our most exciting and dynamic projects to date! Driftless Kitchens and sister company T-Squared Designs designed a whole-house remodel/addition for these hip and nature-loving clients.
THE DESIGN BRIEF: Transform this dated former bed-and-breakfast into a comfortable modern retreat that celebrates both the beautiful white oak timber frame within, and the lushly forested acreage beyond.
By swapping the kitchen and dining areas, we enabled the kitchen to inhabit a more central, focal space- not only do these clients love to cook, but they also entertain regularly and this provided a wonderful proximity between work and social spaces. We married the existing timber frame with black steel, designed sweeping views to the outdoors, and created a nature-inspired palette of espresso-stained maple cabinetry, concrete-look countertops, and hand-crafted butcher block. Nearly every cabinet was outfitted with the perfect storage solution to ensure this kitchen performs impeccably.
We worked collaboratively with the clients through the entire process to re-create this home into a warm modern space that befits their style and personality, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.
