This project began as a team effort between designer Amber Westerman (check out her work at poemhomes.org) and Driftless Kitchens. While Amber focused mostly on the addition-and we focused mostly on the kitchen- collaborating enabled us to create the best version of this addition/remodel project, together.
The addition, which contained a large, sunny living room, enabled us to swap the dining and existing kitchen spaces, which in turn enabled us to create a larger, more efficient kitchen space while remaining open to both the new living and dining spaces. Additional built-ins were added in adjacent areas, creating a sense of material continuity and warmth.
